Sergeant Knortz is a Jail Operations Division Supervisor, General POST Instructor, Field Training Officer, and the Assistant Team Commander of the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard.

In addition to representing the Sheriff’s Office during ceremonial or special events, Sergeant Knortz is responsible for creating the current Jail Operations Division shift rosters system for daily assignments and scheduling. Sergeant Knortz strives to continue learning the Gwinnett County Jail policy and procedures to serve in the Sheriff’s Office Administration Division.
