Explorer Post 699 brings business and community leaders together to help Gwinnett County youth reach their full potential. Exploring offers youth and young adults unique, hands-on experiences in an environment that develops leadership, character, and confidence through many immersive and empowering moments along the way.
EXPLORER POST 699
Explorer Post 699 was established in 2006, designed to help the youth in Gwinnett County embark on a career in law enforcement. This program provides a hands-on opportunity to develop life skills and leadership experience. We welcome participants between the ages of 14 and 20 who have an interest in law enforcement.
Explorers are able to work alongside professionals, attend weekly training sessions, and participate in community service events and projects. They will be provided with a comprehensive understanding of the role of law enforcement in society, the criminal justice system, and various real-life scenario techniques and tactics.
The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office Explorer Post will always seek excellence. Explorers will be held to a high standard of conduct and must embody integrity, respect, and professionalism. By upholding these high standards, participants in the program demonstrate their commitment to excellence and dedication to the law enforcement profession.
The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office values the role of mentoring future law enforcement officers and aim to build positive relationships with the youth in our community. We will ensure an enjoyable learning process through team-building exercises, summer competitions, special events, as well as formal awards ceremonies. All are intended to be fun while maintaining the never-ending pursuit of making every explorer an extraordinary future leader.
